Series lore and name
The grim rider is a skeleton on horseback, wielding a lance and shield. The skeleton has the appearance of a fop, wearing a powdered wig on its head, topped by a wide-brimmed black hat with a white feather in it. It wears a fancy green cloak, salmon-colored bracers and boots, white leggings, and black gloves. Its mad steed is murky brown with a purple mane and tail.

Using Grim rider
Grim rider sits in the Undead family.
In DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World you do not fight beside your monsters — you build the party and command it. Up to four monsters are active with four more in reserve, and synthesis is the main way to raise a keeper: combine two monsters from level 10 and the child inherits the parents' talents, with a Plus Value that can lift it past their rank.
